Will my Guitar Hero 3 game work with a Guitar Hero 4 guitar controller?

Im wondering if there would be any point in keeping my guitar hero III game for the Wii after buying guitar hero IV.

Yes it is but the gh4 guitar is better. The gh4 controller has a touch sensitive bar so you dont have to strum. it is also used as a higher pitched wammy. There is a button that starts star power but you can still use the traditional way of tilting it.

what is up with my guitar hero 3 game?

I just got this game on Sunday and when I try to host a match it either starts in the middle of the song or justs skip the song completely. However when I go into another persons game it works fine.
It works just fine in campaign too.

CD is probably messed up, or your system is.
